New Zealand's newest 'classic' is easy to reach, ride and enjoy thanks to all our awesome local operators.
It is very important to understand the logistics of the Timber Trail when planning your trip, you are travelling into a very remote part of New Zealand and it is highly recommended to make good use of our shuttle operators to make your journey much more convenient than trying to figure your car relocation. We have a some recommendations:
1. Arrange for a shuttle operator to pick you up and drop back at the accommodation you are staying at. Or you can ask your accommodation provider to arrange for the shuttle service.
2. Park your car at Bennett's Road Carpark, outside Epic Cycle Adventures HQ, and arrange for a shuttle to pick you up and take you to your accommodation for the first night or to the start of the Timber Trail in Pureora.
3. It is highly recommended to arrive the night before your Timber Trail journey so you can get adequate rest and start bright and early for day one. Be sure to have the shuttle service arranged for first thing in the morning. If you booked Timber Trail Lodge, Black Fern Lodge, or a camping package, you will not need the shuttle to pick you up at the end of day one as you will be riding to your accommodation. However if you booked accommodation away from the Timber Trail, you will need the shuttle service daily.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: It is recommended to plan to buy enough supplies for your Timber Trail journey as shops and cafes are very limited. Please visit our EAT & DRINK page to get more information. If you are camping, you will need to buy all food that you plan to cook. There are packages from Epic Cycle Adventures and Pa Harakeke where they provide complete camping set-up packages (no food), please visit Bike Hire, Shuttles & Tours page to get more information.
